Munir rules out Zenit and will begin pre-season with Barcelona
The striker won't move to Russia and will be back with Barça on July 12
He will not leave Camp Nou until he's happy with the project offered to him
Munir's future is not clear. In fact, it's more complictaed now than it was one week ago. Barça were hoping he would agree terms with Zenit Saint Petersburg with the club set to get cloe to 20 million euros from the Russian club.
However, a deal has not been possible. From the off, Munir was honest and expressed his reluctance to move to Russia. After his expierence with a Valencia in turmoil, he wants to join a stable club and a manager who shows faith in him.
Therefore, not even a call from Zenit coach Roberto Mancini was able to force the young striker to change his mind. Both factors must be conunted for.
Barça HOPEFUL
In the offices at Can Barça, there's calm because the club know that Munir still has a good reputation around Europe. There is interest in the player and from some clubs that would be able to meet Barça's financial demands.
The problem is that Munir's in no rush. The forward and his agents are gathering the offers and waiting before deciding on the best one.
In principle, a move to Italy is gaining weight. Munir has a number of offers from Serie A. There's also interest from England, Portugal and Germany in his services. The player prefers to wait and begin pre-season with Barça, though. He will be back in training on July 12 under Ernesto Valverde.
