Mundo Deportivo have lied and manipulated in accusations against SPORT

Mundo Deportivo are trying to defend themselves after Guardiola's press conference at Camp Nou on Tuesday

After the direct accusation from Mundo Deportivo to SPORT surrounding the supposed interest Manchester City has in various Barcelona players this summer, something Pep Guardiola deniedSPORT want to clarify certain matters.

1. Mundo Deportivo have lied, attributing their reports to the English media

On Monday, Sept. 19, Mundo Deportivo published a front cover and a two page spread: “MD can confirm that Manchester City CEO and Barcelona’s former vice president Ferran Soriano contacted Messi to see about a transfer.” That’s to say, in no case did they lean on information from The Sun or other English media. It was passed as their own report. In contrast to Mundo Deportivo, SPORT cited the international media and at no point claimed the information was their own or fact.

2. Mundo Deportivo have deliberately cut and manipulated their screen shot

Mundo Deportivo have cut the screen shot they’ve used of a SPORT story in which we reported on the rumours regarding Messi and Neymar in various English outlets. MD cut their screen cap before the line where SPORT credit where the information came from.
