Misfit Alex Song poised to join West Ham United on loan

Alex Song is close to a move to West Ham United.

The Cameroon centre-midfielder has endured a torrid time at the Camp Nou since joining from Arsenal and likely to move on loan back to London.

A deal will be viewed as something of a coup in east London, given that although Song has not been able to force his way into the Barcelona first-team, he was a good midfielder when he left. 

Playing with the likes of Lionel Messi and Andres Iniesta in training is unlikely to have done him any harm.

Liverpool were another potential option but now Sam Allardyce's side are in the driving seat, per the Telegraph.

Barcelona may contribute towards his wages with West Ham only willing to pay for part of them.
