Midfielder Sergi Roberto handed new contract with Barcelona
Barcelona have announced that Sergi Roberto has signed a new deal which will keep him at the Catalan club until 2019.
The 22-year-old midfielder's current deal was due to expire in 2015.
With the new deal, Roberto's release clause will increase to €30million, although the club did say that "could increase to €40million" at some point in the future.
Talks began over a new deal at the beginning of the summer, as reported by SPORT, but the agreement took time to be reached as Barcelona instead prioritised bringing in new signings.
Roberto joined the club in 2006 and has since made over 100 appearances for Barça B - where he was handed his debut by Luis Enrique.
He has also made 40 appearances for the first team, with 27 coming during the last campaign.
