Aleña's current terms expire in 2018 but he's set to extend them soon

He appeared in the recent wins against Granada & Sevilla as a substitute

Carles Aleña, the most recent academy player to make his league debut under Luis Enrique, is out of contract in 2018.

However, he could see his terms extended before the current season is over. Talks have accelerated in recent weeks and everything is moving in the right direction for a long-term deal to be agreed.

Aleña has become one of the in-fashion players from the B team and has come on as a substitute in the last two games against Granada and Sevilla.

He's one of the players Robert Fernandez was talking about when he assured that there were players in Barça B who would make it in the first team at Camp Nou.

It's not been an easy season for the young midfielder. Ignored by the first team for several months, he was tempted by various clubs who hopes to sign him, either on loan or permanently.

Aleña has kept his patience under Gerard Lopez and is now getting his reward with the first team. Sources inside the club have confirmed that the renewal is on track and that it will probably be announced before the season's out.
