Messi has now scored in all SIX competitions this season

Lionel Messi has no limits. He scores all kinds of goals, creates for others and beats records with the ease at which others pop out to buy bread.

Against Espanyol we witnessed another supreme display. After his first-half brace - the second a stunning free-kick - he has now scored in all six competitions Barcelona have played in this season.

As of January 6, he had scored six goals in La Liga, three in the Champions League, two in the European Super Cup, one in the Spanish Super Cup and one in the Club World Cup.

And that, it shouldn’t be forgotten, was despite having missed two months with a knee injury. However, he was still missing a goal in one competition: the Copa del Rey.

On Wednesday, though, against Barça’s city rivals, that changed. The Pericos had taken the lead through Felipe Caicedo on seven minutes, but Luis Enrique’s side bounced back almost immediately.

The referee missed several clear could outside the penalty area, but as play continued, Andres Iniesta threaded the ball through to Messi, who beat Pau Lopez without any problems. That was his 14th goal of the season.

His second goal, a free-kick on the stoke of half-time, carried him on to 15.
