Messi and Ronaldo's yachts docked close together in Ibiza

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, the two biggest stars of world football, are currently almost as close to each other as if they were taking part in a Clasico between their clubs, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

The Argentine and the Portuguese players both have their yachts tied up at the Marina Botafoch dock in Ibiza.

Messi and Ronaldo have chosen the Balearic Isle as their base to spend a few days with the family, converting the spot into the capital of Planet Football, even though they’re both currently resting.

Only two boats separate Messi and Ronaldo’s yachts and, of course, it’s put the paparazzi on red alert in the hope of catching a photo of the two footballers greeting each other.

The first to arrive was Messi and he has since been seen passing time on the beach with his partner Antonella, his children and the rest of his family.

Meanwhile, the Madrid man headed to Ibiza after celebrating winning the European Championships with Portugal last weekend.

He’s quickly been snapped by photographers and television cameras, but they’re still hunting for the photo of the summer… the two together.
