Mazinho hopes Rafinha and Thiago can be united at Barça again

While Rafinha is in Brazil preparing for the Olympic Games, his father has not given up hope that one day his brother, Thiago Alcantara, could be reunited with him at Barcelona one day.

Mazinho spoke on Radio Barcelona. "I hope that one day Thiago can return to Barcelona," he said. "He's a player with Barcelona DNA, that he has had since his formation here, and you never know. The football world has many twists. The doors are always open to eveything and who knows if one day we will be able to have the two of them here together again. There's no resentment, the opposite, we are grateful to Barcelona for their actions."

It's clear though, that despite Pep Guardiola leaving, Thiago is comfortable at Bayern Munich. "We can't think of being sad or happy, we are professionals. He's a Bayern player and he's content and happy to be at a club where he's working well. He's renewed his contract and is very happy there."

With regards to Rafinha, his father said: "Rafinha is good, working, happy, recovering a little of what he lost (during injury), but he's good. He has a small muscular problem, but it's almost over.

Mazinho that Rafinha took missing the Copa America with injury well. "These are normal things in football. It's not a situation that anyone wanted, but it happened. Now he's been out nearly seven months because of his knee injury. They are things that upset you, but they are part of the work and you have to be prepared when they happen. Now it's all in the past, you have to look forward and keep working."
