The forward has found form and confidence under Ernesto Valverde

The winger has scored and set up goals this season

Gerard Deulofeu's combination of talent and perseverance is bearing fruit. The young Barcelona forward has been able to get a role in the team alongside Leo Messi and Luis Suarez, helping the fans to gorget about the departed Neymar and injured Ousmane Dembele. He set up a goal and scored in the Copa del Rey as Barcelona won 3-0 against Murcia.

Rollercoaster

The first few weeks of the season has gone well for Deulofeu. They brought him back from Everton and with Neymar leaving, it seemd his moment had arrived, but then he suffered an injury.

Dembele was signed, setting Deulofeu back further, but then the injury sustained by the Frenchman opened a new door for the winger.

Now he feels comfortable in Valverde's 4-4-2, taking a spot on the right of midfield.

Maturity

Deulofeu has shown he has matured sufficiently to combine defensive works with his explosive forward actions, demonstrating he is capable of using his talent for the benefit of the team as a whole.

The player had his worst run against Girona, Sporting and Las Palmas, but after helping Barcelona earn a draw at Atletico Madrid, playing the last 30 minutes at a good level, he is improving and did well against Olympiakos, Malaga and Real Murcia.
