Martin Montoya abandons Barcelona camp to seal Valencia move

Martin Montoya abandoned Barcelona's training camp in England on Friday to travel to Valencia ahead of a move to Los Che.

Barcelona are willing to let him go for free, and the deal is related to the club's purchase of Andre Gomes from Pako Ayestaran's side.

Montoya has agreed a four-year deal with Valencia, who are looking to replace Alberto Barragan, who has joined Middlesbrough.

The right-back rejoined Barcelona after an unsuccessful loan spell with Inter Milan and then a few months at Real Betis.

He will take a medical on Saturday and is likely to then finalise his move down Spain's east coast.
