Marlon set to miss Fluminense game as Barça move draws closer

The days of Marlon Santos at Fluminense are numbered after the player refused to play against Flamengo on Sunday with his move to Barça now on its final path.

Marlon had been called up by coach Levir Culpi but was seen leaving the club facilities recently with some of his belongings.

At 20-years-old, the Brazilian is considered one of the promising talents to come out of his homeland and was under contract with Fluminense until December 2019. Marlon hasn't featured much under Culpi and his last appearance came on April 17, when the Fluzao were beaten 1-0 by Vasco da Gama.

Marlon's farewell is nearing a conclusion, especially after talks had taken place between Fluminense and his representative, Fred Moraes, who acted quickly to close a deal with the Blaugrana.

Luis Enrique could have the player at his disposal for the upcoming pre-season schedule.
