Verratti said he was thinking of leaving the club last summer

He claims his decisions have nothing to do with money

PSG midfielder Marco Verratti was wanted by Barcelona last summer. The Italian was close to leaving the French side but eventually stayed. In an interview with L'Equipe, he recognised that for the first time, saying clubs were willing to pay 100m euros for him.

"I will be sincere. For the first time in five years I asked myself if I should continue here, but they calmed me down over the project and our ambitions. There were clbus willing to pay 100m euros for me.

"People think that I play for PSG for money but it's not like that. If I had gone this summer there were clubs who would have paid 100m and I would have gained a lot more money. Neymar didn't sign here for money, but for the project. My case is the same."

On the other hand he blamed his ex agent Donato Di Campli for the controversy. "Many things happened which I did not like, among them the way people by my side acted. They would of them and not of me. I never told PSG I want to leave."
