Marc-Andre ter Stegen on why he cut Barcelona holiday short

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen once again showed his hope and ambition to become the club's first choice goalkeeper this season, in all competitions.

Ter Stegen, who cut short his holiday so he could join Barcelona's tour of America early, said: "To be in preseason is good for me. I want to play all the games, but the final decision is the coach's."

Luis Enrique Martinez, who played Ter Stegen in the Copa del Rey and Champions League last season, kept the league games for his rival, Claudio Bravo.

"I returned before my holidays were up to prepare well for the new season," he said.

Ter Segen added: "I have to train to the maximum, but I want to play everything, sure. Last season was not like this, but I'll wait to see how things go."

He didn't know if this year he would play in the league and Bravo in the cup competitions.

"It's not about exchanging roles with Bravo," he said. "Claudio was in great form last season and we will see what happens with this."
