Marc-Andre ter Stegen will extend his Barcelona contract by a further two years with official confirmation expected in the coming days.
The German is now seen as the club's firm choice as no.1 after Claudio Bravo decided to move to Manchester City and Jasper Cillessen only expected to be a back-up option when he arrives from Ajax.
Barça want Ter Stegen to stay for as long as possible and will tie the former Borussia Monchengladbach goalkeeper to the Camp Nou until the 2020/21 season.
With Bravo out the picture and the opportunity to play in every competition, Ter Stegen has reached a key point in his career at just 22-years-old and must now prove why Luis Enrique and the club have placed so much faith in him.
