Manchester United want an answer from Barcelona's Dani Alves before the end of April

Dani Alves can't afford to wait for an agreement with Barcelona much longer. The right-back has a big offer on the table from Manchester United for the next three seasons, but the English club want an answer in the next few weeks, threatening to withdraw their offer if not.

It seems he is edging closer to the Premier League, where Arsenal and Liverpool have also been monitoring his situation. His contract at Barça expires on June 30.

His objective is to continue at Barça and sign one last big contract with the club. That is why him and his agent have been waiting while the Blaugrana have been slow to offer anything.

During this time he has been listening to offers from various European clubs, but he has not signed anything yet. In all cases he has asked for time while he waits to see what happens with Barça.

He had hoped the club would be able to offer something close to what he expects, but both Alves and his representatives have been disappointed with the terms.

Now he's running out of time to decide. United have been the club to express the most interest and the have guaranteed him a three year deal with an impressive salary. But they are getting restless and may withdraw their offer if he does not commit during April.

Despite the rumours, he has only received offered from England. As well as United, Liverpool and Arsenal have been in touch. Paris Saint-Germain, who did meet with his agent, have not offered anything

In Italy, Inter Milan have expressed an interest, but are unlikely to offer the wages Alves demands.

It is likely Alves' agents will continue to negotiate with Barça. Both Alves and the club have their own strategy, with the goal ultimately being the same: for the 31-year-old to stay at the club.

There is not a huge gap between Barça's offer and what Alves wants, so there is room for an agreement to be reached.

The next 15 days will be decisive, but Barça have no intention of making the talks public.
