Manchester United set sights on Barcelona forward Neymar

Manchester United are desperate to make a big name signing and The Sun, citing sources at FC Barcelona, are reporting they have set their sights on Barcelona star Neymar.

Ed Woodward was in Barcelona earlier this week, supposedly to try and complete a deal for Pedro, but the English newspaper is suggesting he was actually in town to continue secret talks to try and buy Barça's No.11.

United's vice-chairman has supposedly been in the Catalan city on three occasions during the last three months, making an under the radar and audacious move for Neymar.

Gareth Bale is another name who has been regularly linked with Old Trafford as they seek a marquee signing.

Barça are expected to resist all interest from the Premier League side, though. Neymar formed a lethal front three with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez last season and they do not want to break them up.

Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with the 23-year-old in the past.
