Malo tells SPORT that Barcelona have apologised after Lucho comment

Barcelona have apologised to Diario Gol journalist Victor Malo, whose surname (meaning bad) was mocked by manager Luis Enrique in his press conference after losing 2-1 to Valencia.

He had asked a question about whether the physical preparation at the club is affecting their bad results. And the coach replied by saying: "What was your surname?"

The journalist responded "Malo". And Luis Enrique said: "Correct, next question." Malo, in Spanish, means bad.

SPORT spoke to Malo on Monday and he revealed that nobody had personally apologised to him, but Barcelona as a club did to the address of his newspaper.

He had said that he was "expecting a tough response" from Lucho about his question.

Malo said: "Nobody from the club has called me to apologise directly, but they called the newspaper to do so."
