Fekir has been watched by Barcelona, Arsenal and Real Madrid

He is in red hot form in Ligue 1, scoring 11 goals in 11 appearances

Lyon president Jean Michel Aulas has spoken about the reports linking star player Nabil Fekir with a move to Real Madrid, Barcelona or Arsenal.

In an interview with SFR Sport 1 he came across as optimistic about keeping the player until, at least, the end of the season.

"Of course," he said when asked if Fekir would stay beyond the January transfer window. "And nothing says he'll leave at the end of the season.

"He's under contract [until 2020], he's happy in Lyon. He's enjoying a period of success football-wise, but also in terms of management as he's captain of a Lyon that has been able to get itself back on track, and it's also thanks to him."

Put to him that, if Fekir's fom continues, the interest next summer will be difficult to fend off. However, the Lyon president is not giving up hope of keeping the forward for a long time.

"Of course, he has a very good chance of being [at] Lyon [next season]," he added. "He's a symbol. In between times, there will be the World Cup. If France is in the final, which I hope for, and Nabil scores the goal that makes France world champions, of course he'll get offers.

"But that said, we're going to do everything for Nabil to stay and I think he wants to stay."
