The Uruguayan spoke about the Egyptian forward ahead of the World Cup

Uruguay striker Luis Suarez has wished Liverpool's Mohamed Salah all the best after Sergio Ramos injured him during the Champions League final.

"They are things that happen in football, it's quite complicated and quite tough to go into a final thinking about playing at the World Cup after and the truth is he had bad luck," Suarez told Telenoche.

"I wish him the best, that he can recover and more than anything get back for a World Cup that all players dream of playing in."

Uruguay face Egypt in Group A, along with Rusia and Saudi Arabia.

"When I play I look at the other national teams and I want the best players to be there," said Suarez.

Asked if this World Cup could be 'revenge' after he was banned in 2014 after biting Giorgio Chiellini, Suarez said it would not, but he is in debt to himself.

"If Uruguay go with humility, hard work, and are united, that nobody thinks anyone is better than anyone else, as Uruguay has always gone to World Cups, I think things could go well," he added.
