The striker will then rest for another week, missing the Tottenham game

Luis Suarez has begun the week continuing with treatment on his knee injury, which has ruled him out of action since the draw against Atletico Madrid.

The Uruguayan striker has been working in the gym on strengthening the muscle around his right knee with the aim of being able to play without any type of pain.

Suarez has followed biological therapy with stem cells to regenerate the damaged areas of the knee. That treatment has been complemented by work in the gym and rest to be available again for Ernesto Valverde as soon as possible.

Barcelona said he would be out for 15 days, which put his presence in this weekend's Catalan derby against Espanyol in doubt, but there is positivity that he will be ready for Cornella on Saturday.

The margins are fine, but there's optimism and confidence that his knee will be ready.

Suarez will continue with recovery work throughout the week and on Friday a decision will be made on if the treatment can be ended. The player's working with the idea of being in the squad against Espanyol, then resting against Tottenham, with top spot in their Champions League group already assured for Barça.
