Luis Suarez: Barcelona being favourites will motivate Real Madrid for Clasico

Barcelona forward Luis Suarez thinks that going into the Clasico as favourites will motive Real Madrid.

The Uruguayan striker also said he wouldn't be looking to hurt Sergio Ramos, who will play with an injured shoulder, while speaking at a press conference on Wednesday after training.

Suarez said: “Going into the game as the favourite is the best way to motivate your opponent, and when one team appears to be weaker heading into a game like this, the opposite often ends up happening.

“Real Madrid are Real Madrid, we know what they can do, we know that they have the top players and we will need to really concentrate.”

Asked about Ramos' injury, which will see him play the game having taken pain-killing injections, Suarez said he will not go out to cause damage, and says Madrid would do the same with regards to Lionel Messi's knee.

“I don’t think anyone is going to go looking to hurt Ramos’ shoulder, just like no-one will go after Messi’s leg, because we are colleagues and professionals.

"But of course we will be more switched on because it’s the Clasico."
