Barcelona star Luis Suarez has agreed a new contract with the club that ties him down until June 30, 2021. He will put pen to paper on Friday at the club offices, 1.30pm CET.

The Uruguayan hitman, 29, turns 30 in January. His new deal will keep him at the club until he is 34.

Speaking at an event on Friday Suarez said: “I feel complete happiness because I am where I want to be. It’s now official, I never put any obstacles in the way of a renewal. I will never lose my ambition and enthusiasm for winning trophies and scoring goals.”

On being the second of the MSN trident to sign a new deal he said:

“My renewal has nothing to do with Neymar or Messi’s. Leo is great and he knows what he has to do and decide. As a team-mate I am available to help him but Leo is old enough to decide for himself. We are friends and we have a great relationship, but he is an adult and he has to take that decision."
