Luis Enrique wants to sign another forward - but admits it's tough in January

Luis Enrique says his priority in the January transfer window is to add an attacker to his side.

The Asturian admitted he’d like to strengthen all areas of the team, but said if he had to focus on one area it would be the front line.

“I don’t know if I should answer that or not, but it’s a good question,” he responded when asked where he most wanted to add to his side.

“Right now, I think probably in attack - if we are to bring someone in.

“In all areas, though, it would be nice to bring in reinforcements.”

It should be remembered that Barça have already been able to add Aleix Vidal and Arda Turan to their ranks in January.

Sporting director Robert Fernandez has spent the last few weeks combing the market for reinforcements, too.

However, Luis Enrique is realistic and admitted it is a difficult time of the year to get deals over the line.

“There has to be negotiations before transfers, which always takes time,” he added.

“It’s harder in winter because teams don’t want to lose players.

“It’s not an easy time to operate, but we want to improve our squad and we are looking at players.”
