Luis Enrique sings Sergi Roberto's praises after Athletic win

Luis Enrique said that Barcelona produced a "complete performance in all aspects of play" as they kicked off the season with a win over Athletic Club performing at "a very high level, like last year."

He continued: "It was a complete game. I had already commented that the circumstances would be different to the Super Cup and that is how it proved. We have stopped Athletic creating danger and we created a lot of chances against them, although we suffered at the end because the score line was so tight."

The Barça boss also praised the full-backs, Jordi Alba and Sergi Roberto, who replaced the injured Dani Alves early on. "The full-backs are really important in this team and I am really happy with them both, especially Sergi Roberto. He had to come in an unexpected situation."
