Luis Enrique says Barcelona stars are hyper-motivated to win Copa del Rey final
Barcelona coach Luis Enrique says his players are pumped up to play in the Copa del Rey final against Athletic Club.
"We have maximum enthusiasm for the Copa. We don't put any title on top of another. It's not easy to do the double, they are opportunities that pass and it's difficult to have that opportunity."
The Asturian insists that the Champions League final is on the backburner and that "I am not preparing for two finals, there is no other final, I know Juventus because I have been following Calcio since I was at Roma, there is plenty of time next week [for them]."
The coach feels calm and believes his feelings have been transmitted to the dressing room.
"We will not commit the error of thinking about other games. it's a final in a special place, although it's neutral. It's our stadium, we have a lot of stimulus, with a lot of motivation and enthusiasm to win the game."
Enrique is not overly impressed with the "favourites" tag, saying "if you ask any fan of Athletic, they'll think the same as Barcelona, that they have a big chance to win. The fans always have faith, blind encouragement, but the professionals know how difficult it is to achieve any title. You play for 90 minutes and have to be active and alert."
