Luis Enrique reveals he has made signing requests for January

On the possibly of signing players in January, Luis Enrique said he would be “delighted to be able to count on what I have asked the club and the Three Kings for, but I never make public what I say to the club.”

However, he did say he’s always working “with the objective to improve the squad, then, after that, we will see what we can achieve.”

Luis Enrique also evaluated the imminent incorporation of Aleix Vidal and Arda Turan, who can make their debut in the Copa del Rey next week against Espanyol, as a hugely positive thing.

“They’re two players I consider important and who can play in various positions. They have a high level of technique and personalities to play for Barça, enrich our squad and to generate the necessary competition we’re looking for in the first team,” the Asturian said.

In addition, he also insisted that the fight for the La Liga trophy will be between all three teams at the top - Barça, Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid.

“All three deserve credit and we are in the fight. It will stay like that [a battle between three] until the end, I have no doubt about that,” he said.

Finally, he spoke about Luis Suarez’s great form in recent weeks: “It doesn’t surprise me because he’s a goal scorer and he will be for his entire life.”
