Luis Enrique is just one win away from 100 as Barça coach

FC Barcelona manager Luis Enrique Martinez has been able to find an even higher gear for his team than the one coached by Pep Guardiola between 2008 and 2012.

The Asturian boss, who could reach the milestone of 100 victories during his time at the helm on Sunday, can do so with figures that better those posted by the coach from Santpedor.

The efficiency and strength of Luis Enrique's Barça is helping to form another great era at the Camp Nou.

LUIS ENRIQUE'S 99 VICTORIES

Competition                                            Games   Wins  Draws  Losses   For    Against  Titles

La Liga 77 60 8 9 228 52 2
Champions League 23 18 2 3 53 19 1
Copa del Rey 18 16 2 0 61 11 2
Spanish Super Cup 4 2 1 1 6 5 1
European Super Cup 1 1 0 0 5 4 1
World Club Cup. 2 2 0 0 6 0 1
TOTAL 125 99 13 13 359 91 8

Luis Enrique's statistics speak for themselves. He can reach 100 victories in just 126 official games. Guardiola did so in his 139th game (13 more than 'Lucho' may require).

Pep achieved the mark in a Copa del Rey defeat of Ceuta (5-1) at home, on November 10, 2010.

The strategist from Asturias will not only reach the century of wins before Guardiola, he will do so with more goals scored and fewer conceded.

Pep's team scored 339 goals en route to those one hundred successes. Luis Enrique's men already have 359 to their credit (20 more).

With regards to the goals against column, Luis Enrique has seen his Barça teams concede 91 times, as we await the pending match which will provide the hundredth win. Guardiola's Barça allowed 108 goals during the relevant period, 17 more than the current coach's charges.

Regarding titles, each man will have won eight trophies on their way to 100 victories.

Pep, after his third season, ended with 10 in the cabinet. Luis Enrique could better this feat if he is able to guide his team to all three that are in play from this point on: La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.

That is the great challenge of the 2016/17 FC Barcelona squad.
