Luis Enrique: La Liga is getting closer all the time

Luis Enrique didn't feel his side were ever troubled against Real Betis and celebrated the fact the league title "is getting closer all the time".

"I don't think we were in troble. We completely dominated, with adverse circumstances on the pitch, which was OK but too dry, although that also worked against Betis," the Asturian explained.

The Barça boss said he was "super satisfied" with his team, not just for the result, but for the defensive performance.

"It's something we've improved incredibly today. We defended at a good level, improving on the performances which allowed our rivals to create chances recently. And if teams create less chances, we will have more chances to win the game."

"All the time it's closer, all the time there's less to go," he commented on the title race. Barça could be crowned champions at home to Espanyol next weekend. "It will be a derby and I expect Camp Nou to be full, which will help," he said.

Luis Enrique added: "It now seems that if you don't win 8-0 in every game, something's not right, but we are serious. It's a very competitive league and I think the three [title] candidates are strong - no-one will slip up, so we depend on ourselves.

"In the second half we were superior and we could have killed the game off. We knew we had to win and I think we were at a good level.

"We never thought the league was won, but we are still top and, as I said, we depend on ourselves. What we have to do is win our games. We can hope the others fail, but what's important is to win our games."

Finally, Luis Enrique dedicated the win to Manel Vich, the Camp Nou 'speaker' who passed away aged 78 this week.
