Luis Enrique leaves Deulofeu call to Sevilla boss Emery

Luis Enrique avoided the subject of Gerard Deulofeu and his lack of minutes at Sevilla during his press conference on Tuesday.

The Blaugrana coach pointed out it is the boss of the Andalusian side, Unai Emery, who must decide when Deulofeu plays and when Deulofeu does not play.

"I have not spoken with [Deulofeu] and I don't believe that I have to," Luis Enrique said. "Wherever you go you have to fight for your place."

Barça's boss did admit, however, that the reason for the loan was for the 20-year-old to get more minutes than he would have been able to if he had remained at Camp Nou.

He was quite clear in adding that he has nothing but repect for Emery, though.

"The idea of the loan is that Gerard will get to play a lot," Luis Enrique explained. "But it is Emery who must decide."

Until now, Deulofeu has played just 17 minutes for Sevilla in la Liga.
