"How Messi feels will determine how many minutes he plays"

Luis Enrique referred to the situation regarding Lionel Messi’s groin pain in his pre-match press conference for the Champions League game against Celtic.

The Barcelona boss said it’s the Argentine himself who is in charge of decisions what physical condition he is in.

“I would want Messi to play every minute, and he would to,” Luis Enrique said ahead of Tuesday's match.

“It depends on his feelings. If he can play the maximum number of minutes then better for him and the team, but how he feels will determine how many minutes he plays.”

Messi has been struggling with a groin injury since the Athletic Bilbao game at the end of August.

Despite that, he played for Argentina in the recent international break, scoring the winning goal against Uruguay before forfeiting the Venezuela game to concentrate on his recovery.

He returned for the weekend loss to Alaves, playing the final half an hour as Barça went down to a surprise 2-1 defeat.
