The coach of the Catalan club has a win ratio of nearly 80 per cent so far in the competition

Wednesday’s game between Borussia Moenchengladbach and FC Barcelona will be the 25th which Luis Enrique has taken charge of in the Champions League since taking over at Camp Nou. The Asturian, so far, stands out for having won the competition (2014-15) and for maintaining a win ratio of 79.1 per cent.

The Barça coach’s first game in the Champions League was on 17 Setpember 2014 and it ended in a win against APOEL (1-0) at Camp Nou. Since then, and up to and including the win against Celtic on 13 September 2016, he’s experienced 24 European nights and has the following record:

Luis Enrique is currently participating in his third Champions League campaign.

In the first year he ended with the title after coming through a group which featured APOEL, PSG and Ajax. In the knockout rounds he eliminated Manchester City, PSG and Bayern Munich, before winning the final against Juventus (3-1).

In his second campaign he eased through a group containing Roma, Bayer Leverkusen and BATE Borisov and then beat Arsenal in the last 16 before coming unstuck against Atletico Madrid in the last eight.

The present season began with a huge win against Celtic (7-0) at Camp Nou. Borussia Moenchengladbach and Manchester City complete Barcelona’s group.
