Luis Enrique annoyed with Jordi Alba for Espanyol red card

Luis Enrique had words with Jordi Alba after the full-back was sent off against Almeria.

The defender was given a red card in the 53rd minute, having furiously protested a decision by referee Mateu Lahoz and been shown two yellow cards in the space of a few seconds.

Enrique spoke about it in the press conference and defended Alba, saying that "the player told me he said 'always me' and unless that's the title of a horror film, I don't see why the referee sent him off."

However, the truth is that despite what he said in the press conference, Enrique was annoyed with the player

He doesn't understand why Alba protested the referee's decision with such intensity, when it wasn't an important call - just a corner - with Barcelona two goals up.

Alba will miss the game on Tuesday against Getafe, through suspension.
