The English club will only sell the Brazilian for a massive fee

Coutinho's role is key to the English club under Jurgen Klopp

With the operation already under way and Philippe Coutinho giving the green light to Barcelona, the most complictaed part arrives. Liverpool have shut up shop, although they have let slip that the could sell for a figure around 90 million euros.

Barça are clear that starting players are worth a lot of money, but these are amounts exaggerated due to the demand for the player. There is still a lot of negotiating to be done, but it's clear that nothing is closed. Coutinho's people are aware that the player's role will be key. If he actively pushes for the move, it's likely the transfer will happen.

If he doesn't, the only option for the Brazilian would be, once again, to improve his contract with Liverpool, despite aspiring to be part of a bigger sporting project. Barça have not made any direct contact with the English club and are waiting until the end of May. Liverpool are immersed in the battle to win a top four Champions League place and Coutinho is a key part of achieving that.

Once Barça enter on the scene, we will have to see if Liverpool reduce the price to an amount considered more acceptable to invest.
