Lionel Messi's strange booking during Real Betis clash

Lionel Messi was booked during Barcelona's 2-0 win away at Real Betis, a game won thanks to goals from Luis Suarez and Ivan Rakitic.

Messi set up both goals and was also booked in the 23rd minute, after referee Mateu Lahoz booked Gerard Pique for a foul. 

After Pique was booked, Messi was also shown the yellow card, without seeming to do anything. Nobody understood why.

Now we know - according to the referee's report, "In the 23rd minute the player (10) Messi Cuccittini Lionel Andres was booked for the following reason: Protesting one of my decisions.

This supposed complaint was judged worse than some of the hard tackles that the Argentine recieved and Lahoz did not punish. One to tell the grandkids about...
