Lionel Messi's second son, Mateo, is born

Lionel Messi and Antonella Rocuzzo are new parents again. Mateo Messi has been born.

The world's best footballer and his partner have produced a brother for Thiago, who was born on November 2, 2012. 

The Argentine was given permission by the club not to train on Friday morning to be present at the birth.

It means he will not have trained with Barcelona before their clash with Atletico Madrid on Saturday evening, but is still expected to play for his side.

Minutes after it was noted he was not there, the club announced that he was missing for family reasons.
