Lionel Messi: "I want to thank all my team-mates"

Lionel Messi won the UEFA Best player in Europe prize for the second time, as he picked up the award on Thursday evening at the Champions League draw. The footballer, the first to win it more than once, wanted to thank his team-mates. He said he was "very happy for the prize". 

Messi added: "I want to thank all my team-mates after winning this trophy becaue the truth is that they are part of it. Without them I wouldn't be here." With reference to Luis Suarez, who was also there, he said: "We are only two footballers that represent the dressing room. Without them we wouldn't be here. So this is for everyone."

He continued: "The truth is it was an incredible year for us." Asked about the key to the success, Messi said: "I don't know if there's a secret but we will work a lot to be able to continue it." He added: "It was a very united dressing room and one that always had a lot of confidence to have an unforgettable year."
