Lionel Messi: It's not up to me if I play at the Olympics

Lionel Messi, FC Barcelona's Argentine star, says the possibility of playing at the Olympics in Brazil this summer for his country is tricky.

Coach Tata Martino has already mentioned he is likely to call Messi up for the Copa America, and not the Olympics.

In an interview with TyC Messi, Argentina's captain said: "When I was younger my obligation was to go, although Barcelona made it difficult.

"Now I'm older it's not up to me. The same is happening with Neymar and Brazil, they're fighting for him to go."

Messi won a gold medal at the Olympics in 2008, with Guardiola eventually persuading the club to let Messi go to keep him happy and earn his confidence.
