Lionel Messi insists that his relationship with Barcelona coach Luis Enrique is good

Lionel Messi says that January's fallout with Barcelona boss Luis Enrique is now completely in the past.

After the Argentine was left on the bench against Real Sociedad at the beginning of the year, stories leaked of an argument between the two in a training session before the game, with Messi then missing the next training session after that defeat at Anoeta.

Jeremy Mathieu would later confirm there was some tension at the time, but Messi says there are no strains on his relationship with his manager.

"There is no problem," Messi said when asked about how the two are currently getting on. "We have a normal relationship, there are no problems."

Barça have won 26 games of the 28 they have played since that night in San Sebastian and they are looking to make that 27 when they take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final on Wednesday night.

In charge of the German champions is Pep Guardiola, a man who Messi formed a relationship with during his four years in charge of the Catalan club.

However, the 27-year-old was loathe compare his old manager with his current manager.

"I'm not one for comparing managers," Messi said at Barça's Joan Gamper training ground. "Each one has his own ideas, his own ways. One might do one thing, the other another — that's normal.

"They have a lot of similar qualities, but there are other things which are not so similar."

Messi also revealed that he has not kept in contact with Guardiola since he left Barcelona in 2012, adding that there is no extra motivation to beat Bayern because he is in charge.

"We have a good relationship, but we haven't stayed in contact," Messi explained. "We have only seen each other at a FIFA event.

"Playing against [Guardiola] does not provide us with any extra motivation, though. The game itself is motivation; the chance to reach a Champions League final."
