Lionel Messi has adductor discomfort after Barcelona win over Athletic Club

Argentina forward Lionel Messi finished Barcelona's clash with Athletic Club with slight discomfort in his adductor and on Monday tests revealed he has a small issue there.

It is just a minor problem and will not stop him heading to Argentina to link up with the national team for their matches against Uruguay on September 1 and then against Venezuela on the 6th, although whether or not he features will depend on how he recovers from the problem.

Sergio Aguero, meanwhile, has pulled out of the squad after he sustained an injury during Manchester City's clash with West Ham United.
