Lionel Messi feeling good again and ready to win

Lionel Messi is recovering lost sensations. The Argentine has left behind the experiences he went through after the international break, which coincided with Barcelona’s elimination from the Champions League and the loss of points in La Liga. Messi is now ready to battle and to lead the team to the double.

The wins against Betis, Sporting and Deportivo and these weeks with a rest in the middle have helped increase the positive vibes going in to the final stretch of the season. Statistics demonstrate this improvement has benefitted the team as well. Messi has five assists in his last three games and his presence has been key in Barça’s resurgence.

THREE FINALS

Now there are just two games left in the league and the final of the Copa del Rey. Messi is convinced the side will complete an historic season, despite the disappointment of seeing Madrid and Atletico reach the Champions League final at the San Siro later this month.

Those that know Lionel Messi says he is in a good mood and that he is convinced the Catalan side won’t drop any points in La Liga - although he’s also aware Atletico and Madrid won’t throw in the towel and will maintain the fight until the end of the campaign. Messi believes they will both win their remaining games - so Barça have no option but to do the same.

The challenge proposed by Messi is to win La Liga and he’s not ready to let a league title slip which at the end of March seemed practically won. There was a lot of motivation to win another treble and Messi, like the rest of the team and the fans, was hurt when they were knocked out of Europe at the hands of Atletico Madrid.

But Messi has reacted in a natural manner and now believes there is nothing else but to beat Espanyol and then Granada to be in the best possible condition to take on Sevilla in the Copa final.

However, he doesn’t understand what happened to the team. He feels the defeat against Madrid was an accident. He was convinced there would be an immediate reaction in the Champions League, something which didn’t happen, and the disappointment grew. He continued to feel that the team would react in their next game.

Messi couldn’t see a logical response to the dip in form, which coincided with the international break and the leaking of the Panama Papers. He did see a reaction in the defeat against Valencia, although, lamentable, it did not result in three points for Luis Enrique’s side. In the games that have followed the sensations have been better and he is now certain that Barça will not slip up again and will win the double.
