Ligament damage rules Barça midfielder Rafinha out for at least six months
The injury suffered by Rafinha in Rome is as bad as it could have possible been and the midfielder, who will undergo surgery immediately, will be out for six months, practically saying goodbye to the season.
Rafinha was injured by Radja Nainggolan during the game against Roma and after tests Barcelona confirmed the extent of the injury on Thursday morning: he has torn his right anterior cruciate ligament.
The seriousness off the injury to the Brazil international, who had only just replaced Ivan Rakitic, had already been hinted at by Luis Enrique after the match. "It's a very ugly injury. It's the bad news of the day," he said in his press conference.
Rafinha will undergo surgery soon and a source at the club admitted that, with luck, he will be ready to train again at the end of March. Therefore, at the earliest, he won't be able to play again until the month of April.
It's not the first time Nainggolan has seriously injured someone. Last March, in a game against Chievo, the Belgian midfielder broke Federico Mattiello's leg -- Mattiello has still not fully recovered.
