Leo Messi trains on day of rest to make up for lost time after operation

Barcelona star Lionel Messi wants to make up for lost time ahead of his team's clash with Celta Vigo on Sunday at Camp Nou.

Messi, who missed the first two training sessions of the week and the game against Valencia in the Copa del Tey after taking an operation, arrived at Barcelona's Ciudad Deportiva to continue his recovery, despite it being a day of rest for Barcelona's first team players.

Messi's surgery was to help him get over the kidney stone problem he suffered in December, and he recovered enough to train with the group on Thursday. He wants to be in top condition for the game on Sunday.

He's looking forward to reaching his 300th goal with Barcelona in La Liga, currently two off that record.
