"Further proof of the board's incompetence," Laporta said

Laporta may yet make another run to become Barça president

A few hours after Neymar communicated to Barcelona and his teammates that his intention is to leave the club for Paris Saint-Germain, former president Joan Laporta took advantage of the situation to launch another attack against Josep Maria Bartomeu via his Twitter account.

"Neymar's departure is further proof of the incompetence of this board," wrote Laporta, who was president at Camp Nou between 2003 and 2010 before Sandro Rosell replaced him. "Due to economic problems they need to sell him without notice."

Laporta uses this medium regularly to criticise the management of the current directors. On July 12, he described them as "incompetent" and added they were "squandering the club's assets and not taking advantage of the privilege of having the best player in the world [Lionel Mess]."

In another message, he added, "you have to demonstrate to throw them out" as he joined the campaign 'Via Fora, Bartomeu' -- to have Bartomeu removed from his position.
