Klopp shuts the door on a Coutinho transfer to Barça

The German warned other clubs that the Brazilian is not for sale and not available

Liverpool mamager Jurgen Klopp has closed the door on Philippe Coutinho leaving the club for Barcelona or Real Madrid.

The Brazilian midfielder has drawn interest from both La Liga sides, but the German coach insists he does not expect him to leave Anfield.

"We never had any ideas or plans or any talks about him leaving, because he is our player -- there are no other ideas, nothing has changed," Klopp said.

"It would be nice if big clubs forgot about a player completely because he's been injured for five or six weeks.

"Big clubs don't think in this way unfortunately. It was not a big injury so there was no question of him not being the same player afterwards.

"I'm not sure it's like this though, but he is our player and that is it."

Coutinho has been out of action for other a month but he could return in Wednesday's League Cup semi-final first leg against Southampton.

Liverpool are currently second in the Premier League, with Chelsea top.

Midfielder Coutinho has been watched by Barça for a long time and his friendship with Neymar could eventually prove the tipping point if he does one day decide to leave the Premier League club.
