Kevin Gameiro leaves the door open for potential Barça move

Kevin Gameiro's situation at Sevilla means that Barcelona must still consider the striker as a potential addition to the squad this summer.

The 29-year-old is in negotiations with Atletico Madrid and the Champions League runners-up have made a better offer for his services, but nothing has been agreed just yet and Barça must still keep his name on their target list as the options available begin to diminish.

Gameiro was always one of the priority signings of the Catalan club's coaching staff, with his profile and professionalism being two noteworthy qualities. His three years in Andalusia mean he's fully equipped for Spanish football and he remains hopeful of a move to the Camp Nou.

Barça have been informed of the current circumstances surrounding the former Paris Saint-Germain player and are already looking at other alternatives. In fact, Fiorentina have approached the club with a swap deal involving Mario Gomez and Cristian Tello.

But the German's transfer would come at a substantial cost and there are already doubts from the Barça hierarchy. As a result, the proposal is only being considered, for now.

AYOZE PEREZ NEXT ON THE LIST?

The 23-year-old is another name being linked with the Blaugrana and he knows that his days at Newcastle United are numbered after the English club were relegated last season from the Premier League.

Perez is happy to make the move to Catalonia and would fit into Luis Enrique's system given he isn't an orthodox no.9. His transfer fee would be in the region of 15 million euros.
