Juventus switch attention from Juan Mata to Barcelona's Pedro

After toying with the idea of signing Juan Mata from Manchester United, Juventus are now thinking of turning their attention towards Barcelona forward Pedro Rodriguez this winter.

The transfer market closed earlier this month, but agents and clubs are still busy working with future windows in mind.

And, as always, Barça players will be of interest to other clubs.

In the case of Pedro, in theory, he could find minutes harder to come by this season than in previous years. Aware of that, Juve are testing the water out.

The Italian champions have struggled in Europe recently and are still keen to strengthen their squad.

Mata had been an option, but United boss Louis van Gaal is not keen to let the Spanish midfielder leave the Premier League club - he only signed from Chelsea in January.

Plan B, therefore, could be Pedro, who is still a key part in Vicente del Bosque's Spain side.

His contract ends in 2016 (he renewed in 2011) and his release clause stands at €150million.
