Jordi Masip: "I have all the patience in the world"

Jordi Masip, Barcelona's third-choice goalkeeper, isn't ready to throw the towel in just yet after spending two years in the shadows for the Catalan club.

After Victor Valdes' departure in 2014, the Blaugrana's acquisition of Claudio Bravio and Marc-Andre ter Stegen has seen the 27-year-old's game time severely limited. But Masip believes that he is prepared to wait another year for an opportunity to be presented to him by coach Luis Enrique.

"I have all the patience in the world," he said, "It's clear that everyone always want to play, but for now I want to fulfil my contract with Barça [until June 2017] and then we'll see.

"I know I'm in a difficult situation because I'm competing with two great goalkeepers, but to me the hope and desire remains not to quit. Nor do I have the feeling that people believe that the club only have two goalkeepers."

Masip stressed that it's an obligation to "always be ready" when called upon by Enrique, while also giving simple advice to fellow team-mate Sergi Samper after his inclusion in the first team: "You have to work, work and work."
