Jordi Alba: Not everyone is happy that Barça are champions

Barcelona defender Jordi Alba hit back against the people in the media he feels have not given the Catalan side enough credit for their title success.

Three goals from Luis Suarez helped Barça to a 3-0 win against Granada on Saturday, sealing their 24th La Liga crown and their sixth in the last eight years.

"It's deserved," he said. "I hope that people know how to appreciate it, those of us that are inside [the club] know how to. We have won a lot of leagues in recent years. Almost every year we've won titles and that's for a reason."

However, the strongest comment from Alba, which was aimed at certain media, came after that when he said: "I hope you are happy that we are champions, although it doesn't seem as if some of you are."

Alba said that during the Granada game he "suffered because we knew we couldn't mess up." Now he's looking forward to Sunday's parade with the fans "because it is an important day."

The left-back also praised Pichichi winner Luis Suarez: "He is the best centre-forward in the world. As well as the goals, he works for the team. I am delighted for him."
