Jordi Alba: As a Barcelona fan, I always want Real Madrid to lose

The left-back is certain that Madrid fans and players think exactly the same about Barça

Jordi Alba breathed life back into the rivalry between Real Madrid and Barcelona after his side's win against Real Sociedad.

In comments made to "El Partidazo" on Cadena Copa, the left-back didn't bite his tongue when it came to talking about Madrid, who were knocked out of the Copa del Rey by Celta Vigo on Wednesday.

"As a Barcelona fan I always want Madrid to lose, the same as they [want] with us]," he said, echoing comments he's made before. "Anyone who says the opposite is a liar."

The Barcelona defender also commented on Luis Enrique's comments that he'd like Barça to meet Celta Vigo in the final.

"Luis Enrique managed Celta, it's normal he'd want them in the final. If you ask me, I would have liked Valencia," he said.

Finally, Alba criticised those who undervalue the Copa del Rey, especially when they are knocked out.

He added: "There are times when [teams] don't pass through the rounds and they belittle the competition. It's an excuse to say the Copa doesn't have any merit."
