Frenkie De Jong, Ajax's central midfielder, has finally spoken about the interest from Barcelona

Barcelona target, Frankie De Jong, has broken his silence about the interest in him from the Spanish Champions and the chances of him leaving the Ajax this summer. De Jong reappeared for his current team in a friendly against Anderlecht in a match that, according to him, "hadn't gone well".

Afterwards he asked various questions by 'AT5' where he jokingly said: "I feel really, really bad" following his team's poor performance.

However, when De Jong was asked if he'd be at Ajax next season his answer was very clear: "Yes, you heard me correctly." After that there were more questions about his situation, his future and eventually De Jong added: "That's something you'll need to ask Marc Overmars about."

De Jong didn't hide his wish to sign for Barcelona although, at the same time, he admitted that it would be difficult for the move to happen this summer. "I can't promise that (I'll stay at Ajax). But as things stand now, I believe I'll be at Ajax for another season."
